Dr. D. K. Mishra is a distinguished Agri. business professional with over 25+ years of techno-commercial expertise in Agronomy i.e. Soil and Crop management plus hands on experience in managing - Products, Business, Team and Projects. He has worked across sectors, dealing with multi-location tasks, discharging cross functional responsibilities in India and abroad. Travelled to countries like Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Turkey, UAE etc. His professional credentials in the field of agri product development is remarkable and to mention a few,
- Conceptualization, allocation and monitoring of contract research for non-chemical agri-inputs through State Agricultural Universities and Research Institutes (over 60 trials) in India.
- End-to-end management of 100’s of product development field trials on Integrated Nutrient & Pest Management (INM/ IPM); varietal evaluation, seed multiplication etc.
- Planning, team building, facilitation and coordination for large scale Cotton field trials (nutrient management and plant protection) in Uzbekistan.
- Introduction of consortium based agri-inputs for the first time; and lead role in data generation, documentation w.r.t EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certificate of USA; and USDA registration of bio-product.
- Planning, coordination and monitoring of multi-location varietal evaluation trial on underutilized crops (pseudo-cereals, millets, pulses and oilseeds); and horticultural crops in tribal, backward and hilly regions of India (ICAR-NATP project, Govt. of India).
- As a agricultural professional, he has been associated throughout with non chemical agri-input sector, working tirelessly for Sustainable Agriculture and Organic Farming.
- Dr. Mishra is credited with devising, promoting and popularizing the “Field Operational Module” for Adoption and Certification of Organic farming in the Project mode; and lead the team in its successful implementation in 7 Indian States (covering over 70 K acres of land and 30 K farmers).
- Special mention is needed for leading the team w.r.t. field study, documentation and preparation of DPR (detailed project report) on Sustainable Agriculture, and acceptance by Jharkhand Government; leading to formation of “Organic Farming Authority” covering 26300 hectares in 13 districts under Tribal sub plan for vegetables, spices and medicinal mission.
